If you know me, or have known me for a long time you will know I am a massive McFly fan. I’ve lost count at the amount of times I’ve seen them live, It’s around about the 25 mark, and have met them so many times I’ve lost count too! So, when McFly announced their Anthology Tour, a tour over 3 nights playing their 5 albums in full, back to back, I couldn’t say no.
So after I came off nightshift at half 6 on Friday morning, I hopped on a train, or dragged my sleepy self on a train for the 3 hour journey to Glasgow! My boyfriend came along with me, and honestly deserves a medal for coming to 3 nights of McFly with me, especially as he’s into rock and metal music!
Night 1 was their album Room On The Third Floor plus other hits as their encore! I was excited about this night, as this album was released in 2004 which obviously was a long time ago, and they had such young voices compared to now, so I couldn’t wait to hear them change it up. They opened up with 5 colours in her hair, which was honestly the perfect start to their first night. They played the album start to finish, and 5 hits as their encore, Love Is On The Radio, Love Is Easy, No Worries, Silence Is A Scary Sound and The Heart Never Lies. After Silence Is A Scary Sound they actually were running earlier than planned, so they laughed and joked with the crowd and improvised some of their older songs on the spot, ones they hadn’t rehearsed to play live. Tom was already on piano getting ready to start The Heart Never Lies, so the crowd was shouting songs at them, then Harry mentioned Hotel On A Hill, a b side from their single Party Girl. Tom had never performed it live before, so I was excited to hear an exclusive to the tour! Which, he played flawlessly! Then the crowd started to ask for them to play All About You, which even McFly looked a bit confused about as they were playing that on their second night, but they did still play it! I mean, who doesn’t love All About You? It’s too good a song! The night ended with The Heart Never Lies which always gets the crowd singing a long.
After the first night ended, I took a little wander up to their hotel as it was around the corner from where I was staying, but of corse they just stepped inside as we got there, but never mind, I had 2 more days to try and meet them. So, at midnight, myself and Colin sleeply walked back to the hotel after a very great first night.
Me and Dougie Poynter
Day 2, was a little more successful though! I got up early, and wandered myself this time, to their hotel and met up with a few of the girls I’ve met through Mcfly during the years of tours, and Mcfly stalking. With about a 2 hour wait, they wandered out the hotel and I got to meet them again, only getting a photo with Dougie, as they had to soundcheck. But, as much as I would of loved a photo with them all, at least I got to meet them, and that’s all that mattered! I met up with my friend, and we headed back to the hotel a little later on but they were rushing for dinner, and unfortunetly didn’t have any time to get photos with us, so we wandered to the venue and sat outside until doors opened at 7, at least it was a nice day for it!
Night 2 kicked off, and was the night for the Wonderland and Motion In The Ocean album! The Wonderland album is one of my favourite albums, so I was excited to hear it all, and knew that I’d end up crying at some point! They started the night with the first song off the Wonderland album, I’ll be Ok, which is a song that really means a lot me, especially growing up. Until you hear bands singing albums from start to finish, I really didn’t expect it do go by as quickly as it did, as before I knew it they were into the Motion In The Ocean album. I cried like a baby at Bubble Wrap, and even had 2 guys next to me ask if I was laughing, or crying.. how embarrassing! As the night before, they ended with The Heart Never Lies, which I am not complaining about, as it’s one of my favourite Mcfly songs!
Day 3, I went shopping and pretty much had a relaxed, no stalking Mcfly day.. lucky them! I arrived at the venue a little later than usual as it was raining, which sucked, but got a good spot in the crowd, and that was with me leaving a few times to meet their support act MY, which I fell in love with by the end of the 3 nights, she’s absolutely amazing! Also, met Chris Bourne again, who had been with Mcfly on their tour, promoting his own! I grabbed a few drinks and headed back into the crowd for the last two albums, Radio:Active and Above The Noise! I was very excited for Radio:Active as it’s probably my favourite album, with Wonderland being a close second! They kicked off the night with Lies, and by the end of the album I pretty much had no voice left! When they started to play Above The Noise I hit a stage where I just had to leave the crowd, as it was very hot, so went to the bar, and danced and sang along to the rest of the album feeling a lot more cooler!

Me and MY
Safe to say, I had one of the best weekends ever, and it’s now totally drained me, and have a slight case of post tour depression! I met new and old friends, and was lucky enough to meet my boys once again. Down below I’ll leave links to MY and her youtube channel and also Chris Bourne’s who is going out on tour next month!
