I love baking, but it’s something I never do, and with working nightshift right now, I never have enough time to have a quiet night baking. So, tonight I decided I’d take out my Tanya Burr Bakes book and get baking! This is by far my favourite baking book I own, and has such unique recipes. There are festive ideas, cookies, cupcakes, large cakes and everything else in between.
I made the ‘Chocolate Honeycomb Caramel Cupcakes’ and here’s my review on the book and recipe. Also, you get to see how my cupcakes turned out in the end!
First of all what I love about this book is how easy it is to follow. I’ve had a few books in the past that goes into a little too much detail, and that confused me. This is a simple step by step guide that was super easy to follow. The recipe I followed is a good example of how easy it was to bake, with myself not being a fantastic baker, these turned pretty great, and I’m so impressed that I managed to do everything correct.
I had one problem throughout the whole thing and what was I forgot scales! Nightmare! So, I was constantly going onto google trying to find way of measuring, so just remember scales, and don’t be stupid like me and forget some! Apart from my scales dilemma, everything else went smoothly.
Here are my finished cupcakes! Not too bad right!? I added on my crunchies to the top as I’m obsessed with honeycomb, but apart from that I went along with the full recipe, and it turned out fantastic! These are the first cupcakes I’ve made completely on my own, and so chuffed with how they turned out!
Do you own Tanya Burr Bakes? And what recipes have you made from it!?
