Christmas Decorating | My First Year In My Own Place | Blogmas | Day 7

The thing I was excited about when I eventually moved out was decorating the way I wanted to. We are in a rented flat right now, but I can still make it look just as pretty and cosy. So, here is what I’ve done to make my place look festive this year.

The Tree.

I decided to get a 6ft tree, as there was no point in getting a little one. Once you get a larger tree they can last years. I bought a slim tree from Tesco that cost £15 as it was on offer, which I thought was a fantastic deal. I added white lights, also from Tesco for £12 and baubles that I bought from B&M. We are still yet debating wether or not to add tinsel, but if we do I’m sure you’ll see a picture on my Instagram!

The Room Decor.

I am obsessed with fairy lights so I have placed them all around the place. I have put some on a shelf on our bookcase and around our main feature picture so far. I’ve yet to add more. It’s a work in progress with the lights, but right now I love where they are!

I added a Christmas table runner from Primark that cost £5, and bought the little silver christmas tree that was reduced to clear for £3 in Tesco and also a candle for £1, also from Tesco. We have a open plan kitchen/living room so when you walk in that’s the first thing you see, and it looks so festive!

For the windows, I added a glitter reindeer from Homebase, and placed our advent calendars on the window seat, as that one doesn’t get used. I just brings an extra bit of personality, and brightens up the kitchen a little bit!

The Hallway

This was a last minute edition. It looks a little bare without the lights and tinsel, but at the same time quite cute! We have a unit that stands in our hallway so it’s sitting on that. It looks lovely surrounded by our mirror and other decorations in my hallway!

How have you decorated your place? Leave me links to your blog posts and i’ll definitely take a look!
