My Top 3 Christmas Movies | Blogmas | Day 6

The thing I get most excited about this year is cuddling up on the couch watching Christmas movies. I have watched so many in the last week, so thought I’d share my top 3 movies I love to watch at Christmas time.

The Holiday

The Holiday is by far my favourite winter warmer movie to watch at this time of year. Is it because of Jude Law? Well.. Maybe. But, the cast for this movie is just perfect. It’s full of emotion and shows you that Christmas isn’t always happy, and that people are still going through a difficult period in their life, even though they are in the festive season. It shows you how different people celebrate, and bumping into the correct people along the way. If you haven’t watched this, you need to add this to your Christmas movie list! You won’t be disappointed!

Elf

I feel like Elf is everyones favourite Christmas movie, apart from my boyfriend’s! Is he crazy!? Yes! This is a movie I watch every year with my parents, so it brings me back great memories. No matter how many times I watch it I always have tears in my eyes at the end as I’ve been laughing so much! This is about a Elf, Buddy who wants to find his real Dad, and has been brought up by Santa himself. He has never been to the city before, so he is a little clueless when he arrives. It is such a hilarious movie, and I’d be very surprised if most people hadn’t seen this already!

A Royal Wedding

My Mum watches a lot of movies on ‘Movies 24’ the channel at Christmas time, and I came across this while she was binge watching Christmas movies one year. Now, don’t get me wrong it’s cheesy, and not that realistic, unless you actually go out and find yourself a real life prince. And if you did? I’d be jealous! Lacey Chabert who plays Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls is the lead in this movie, and it was so refreshing to watch her play a role outside of Mean Girls. Lacey’s character finds out her boyfriend of one year is hiding a secret, and gets quickly dragged into a life she isn’t sure she is happy with. And also, has to deal with his mother, who isn’t fond of her at all. This movie is on Netflix right now, so give it a wee watch if you haven’t already!

What are your favourite movies at this time of year!? Leave me a comment!
