I am obsessed with Urban Decay and their gorgeous palettes! Just me? I was lucky enough for my Christmas to get the Ultimate Basics palette which I was itching to get my hands on since it first came out. This palette is £38.50 so it’s definitely in the high end price bracket, but it’s definitely worth every penny, and my favourite palette that I own by Urban Decay so far. So, I’ll tell you a little more about it shall I?
This palette is a all matte palette, which I’ve never owned before! I am more of a shimmer eyeshadow girl myself, so I was a bit apprehensive to change and go for something totally different. I love a bold statement, and am known for my smokey eyes and gold glitters, so this is definitely a drastic change, and a change I was excited to have. I have never really got on board with the ‘day and night’ eye looks, I like to wear a ‘night’ eye look during the day, as anything less and I look like I haven’t slept for a week, or ill.
This palette also has 12 completely new shades, that aren’t in any other Naked palettes.. how exciting! Am I drawing you in yet? Also, comes with a little brush, which is actually amazing, concidering I don’t tend to use the brushes that come with palettes, and a huge mirror, which i’m absolutely loving! The case is a gorgeous gold, and closes magnetically, so it’s sealed pretty tight if you want to put it in your bag!
The next question you might want to be asking.. are the shadows pigmented? YES! They are super pigmented, and long lasting. As the usual problem I have with matte shades is that they aren’t pigmented enough, but these are, and glide on super nice! I have been doing so many different eye looks with this palette, and haven’t worn anything else in the last few weeks.
So, here is a little insight to this gorgeous palette, which I hope you all get to try out! On Saturday, which is only 2 days away, I am going to be doing a ‘every day’ smokey eye using the light colours in this palette, which has been my go to look at the moment! See you then!
