Charlotte Tilbury is a brand I’ve wanted to try for years. I sit and scroll through her website imagining the day I can afford all the skincare and makeup she’s released. Then I come back down to earth with a giant thud. I have always been lusting over her products so when I opened my presents on Christmas day, and found ‘Santa’ had bought me the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eyeshadow Palette I was complete shook!
I feel out of every makeup brand, Charlotte Tilbury is a brand I’ve never asked for! In my opinion it’s one of the most expensive and I’d never ask anyone to buy me anything from there. But, now that my Mum and Dad kindly bought me her eyeshadow palette, I have to give my honest opinion!
Now, weeks, maybe even months before I received this palette I was having a chat to someone about is it ACTUALLY worth £60. I came to the conclusion, no. I feel £40 for most high end is steep, so £60 is pushing that boat far, far out! However, now having this golden beauty in my hands I am definitely NOT complaining! So, I thought I’d not only write a blog post on this, but film my first reactions using it as well! Video linked here.
First of, it is SUPER pigmented. I couldn’t quite believe it, but for that price you kind of hope! It’s super easy to blend, maybe even the easiest blending eyeshadow I own to date! The other massive plus about this eyeshadow is that it’s split into categories. So, you can pick a Day eye, Desk eye, Date eye and Disco eye. Which in all fairness I think is super handy, and clever and something I’ve never seen anyone do before!
I went for ‘Desk eye’ as I am loving brown eyeshadow shades right now! The three chosen shades for ‘Desk eye’ are absolutely stunning, and definitely go well together! I’d actually never felt more confident walking out my house today with just eyeshadow on, and not my usual liquid liner. It’s amazing what a good eyeshadow can do! I must also say this is a super amazing palette if you are in a rush for that last minute meeting, or last minute lunch or night out plans. As basically your eyeshadow is right there, set into a category for you!
So, is it worth £60?
As much as I’d love to say yes. Honestly? no. I agree it’s super high quality, everything about it is! But, the price mark in my opinion is a little steep, but I’m not sure it’s that price because it is limited edition! You can definitely find amazing high street and high end palettes that can be just as good, but Charlotte Tilbury, you done good as this is a palette I am now super excited to wear every day!
