8 Goals for 2019

It feels strange typing a blog post, let alone saying it’s 2019. Like when did that happen!? I’ve been sitting for the last week trying to think of what my goals are for 2019. I didn’t want to make any resolutions as I never stick to them, and goals sounded better to me as I don’t feel so guilty as to break them. So here they are. My goals that aren’t massive, but at the same time, some may be a little tricky.

1. Read More

The last week of 2018 I got sick and read 4 books in 5 days. Extreme? Maybe. But I needed that social media detox and it helped me a lot, not just my mind but also my motivation has sprung back into action. So I’ve reopened my GoodReads app and set a goal of 40 books to read this year, which is a lot but definitely doable.

2. Be Body Confident

I was so body confident half way through 2018, I was going to the gym 4/5 days a week and loved the way I looked, but Christmas happened and the months running up I lost my gym motivation and decided to binge eat a packet of chocolate digestives and I lost it from there. This year I am getting myself back on track, which takes me onto my next goal.

3. Go To The Gym At Least 3 times a week

Going to the gym 3 times a week is definitely more than nothing, so that’s what I’m going to start back at, as I know I can do it. I’m going out, buying new gym clothes and proving to myself that I can and will have that body I’ve always dreamed of.

4. Find a new job

I like the job i’m in, but I want something a little more me, a little more permanent and a ‘forever job’ if that even makes sense. I’ve been in my current job for almost 8 years now and I think it’s time I take a step out my comfort zone and aim high. That’s the dream anyway.

5. Save Save Save

I’m saving for a mortgage which is a huge step for my boyfriend and I, but also an exciting one. Who knew looking at kitchens and colours for your bathroom could be so fun? We’ve moved back home (well i’ve moved into Colin’s parents, which is now home) and saving every little bit we can. It’s an exciting time!

6. See more of where i live

I live in the Scottish Highlands which is beautiful. Maybe a tad boring, but beautiful all the same. I feel though that there’s so many beautiful places around me that i’ve missed out on, so I want to document that a bit more and show not just my blog, but also myself what I’ve been missing out on.

7. Take More Photos

I’m someone who’s always glued to their phone, but never takes any photos apart from when i’m going on nights out with my friends. I’m changing that this year and taking as many photos as I can so that I can not only put them on my Instagram but also make a scrapbook as I go along.

8. Just Be Happy

Happiness is key. I just want to be happy in myself, my life, everything. I’m so fortunate in my life that sometimes I get so swept up in it all I forget to take a break and just sit and look back at everything and everyone that makes me happy in life.

    Awesome list! I’ve been wanting to take more photos for the last two years. Though somehow I sort of forgot about it.

    I think it’s something I need to make room for this yearπŸ™‚
