Last month I took a trip to Estonia for a family wedding. Estonia is somewhere I’d never even heard of before, so I knew I couldn’t turn down the offer as I was getting to see a place I’d never of thought of visiting, and I got to see my big cousin get married. It couldn’t of got much better.
We were there for a total of 5 days, having 3 full days, one being the wedding, so I knew we didn’t really have a lot of time to explore Tallinn, so I wanted to fit in as much as possible!
Old Town was what we explored for the majority of the 5 days we were there. It was a 10 minute walk from our apartment, and had everything there. Restaurants, gift shops and Museums, so you had plenty of choice. There was also cobbled side streets that took you to little nooks of the city, which weren’t far to walk either, even if we did get a little lost. I’d never been to a midievel place before like it, so it was super interesting and took some time to adjust to, as I’m used to my beach holidays.
If you want to find some amazing spots for those perfect Instagram shots, as that’s what I was on the hunt for on one of the days, you really do need to get your walking shoes on and climb up those cobbled streets to find them. It is totally worth it though, as the views you get looking over Tallinn is just stunning!
I can’t miss out on putting some photos up of the wedding as well. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, the best day we had, which was so lucky. It was outside of Tallinn, but I just can’t not share these, as the venue was absolutely incredible.
My only regret was not going to other parts of the city, as we stuck to Old Town as it was close by. So definitely next time I’d love to jump on a boat and visit surrounding places for day trips away.
